Resources and Acknowledgments

Knitlingo is the result of months of dedicated work, combined with our team's 20+ years of professional knitting experience. Our knitting pattern translator draws on a multilingual knitting glossary of over 300 terms to deliver accurate translations while preserving the original style of each pattern. Every translation is manually proofread, and we apply our own editorial standards, style sheet, and preferred terms and abbreviations.

The glossary, free and openly available, builds on the collective knowledge found across patterns, books, magazines, blogs, forums, and other community contributions.

On this page, we gratefully acknowledge some of the resources, communities, and individuals whose work has helped inform and inspire our understanding of knitting across languages.

🙏 Special Thanks

To the many individuals who have contributed their time, feedback, and expertise:

  • Our customers, who offered invaluable feedback, helping us launch new features, add new languages, and refine our style sheet and list of preferred terms and abbreviations.
  • Soraya García (Yedra Knits) for sharing doubts about knitting terminology and for her generous contributions to the knitting community, including her resources library.
